    What is counselling?

My clinical approach is client-centred therapy, placing the client's self-identified needs and autonomy at the centre of the therapeutic process.

Trauma therapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore the past and the present in a non-judgemental therapeutic relationship with a trauma-informed practitioner. I can introduce Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support a change in negative thinking patterns and encourage behaviour changes towards positive outcomes.

Mindfulness Therapy is a healthy coping mechanism for consideration as a replacement for unhealthy behaviours such as

    • addictions,

    • isolation,

    • procrastination,

    • depression

    • Self-esteem

    • confidence building

    • Motivation

Guided meditation is offered as a grounding technique to promote relaxation and anxiety relief. Psychoeducation is integrated into therapy as a way to share information about human development and reactions to trauma and distress.

    Online or telephone therapy

Online counselling is carried out via secure and encrypted web platforms. Just like phone counselling, you'll need a private space to have the conversation.

Use a laptop, computer, or tablet if possible (and you may need to make sure that your device’s microphone and camera are working). Stabilise your device on a flat surface rather than holding it for minimal disruption or distraction.

When you and your therapist are both connected by video link, you’ll probably spend a few minutes checking the camera position is ok and that you can both see and hear each other.

Your therapist will discuss how it’s going to work and should also ensure you know what to do if the connection is interrupted.
